Soft-IT Receives an ICT Award from ZIA

On 26 November 2013, under the theme "Developing Value Chains Through Investment", the Ministry of Information Communication Technology in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Investment Authority (ZIA) presented the final list of nominees and the Investors Winners Awards for the year 2013.

Prior to this prestigious event which was hosted at Rainbow Towers, Jacaranda, Harare, Soft-IT Consultants, among many other organisations nationwide, had responded to a press invitation to nomination for the ICT Winner Award of the year 2013.

The call for nominations advertised in local newspapers by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courrier Services was open to all interested and prospective candidates to be considered for the 2013 ICT Achievers Award.

On the Achievers Award ceremony held on the 26 November 2013, a total of 60 certificates was awarded to the "Winners" in recognition of their significant investment contribution to the development of the country. The adjudication was presented by a Deliotte Auditors report.

Soft-IT distinguished itself and received the 2nd runner-up ICT Certificate Award for the year under the Zimbabwe Investment Authority Licensed Projects.

About eighty reputable organisations including two hundred delegates attended the evening ceremony which was chaired by the Zimbabwe Investment Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr Richard Mbaiwa and the Zimbabwe Investment Authority chairman, Mr Nigel M. K. Chanakira.

Among notable guests were the Minister of Finance and Economic Development , Hon. P. Chinamasa (MP), the COMESA Regional Investment Agency Chairman, Mr. Chalimba Phiri, the Permanent Secretary Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. W. Manungo.

Three embassies were also awarded certificates in appreciation of their promoting investment in the country namely the Embassy of People Republic of China to Zimbabwe, the Embassy of Republic of South Africa to Zimbabwe and the Embassy of India to Zimbabwe.
